2010 FALL OUTPOST
Yet
another great weekend of Fellowship, accountability and fun at
the 2010
Ohio District Fall Outpost event held at White Star Park in
Gibsonburg Ohio. GBB
Freemont Unit, Unit #11 was the host unit for the weekend and
once again did a
wonderful job. The hot soup and chili upon arrival on Friday
night was a perfect
welcome for our traveling men and boys.
The
weekend message shared by former GBB Ohio District President,
Tim Soule
was focused on God’s creation, a very appropriate topic and one
we can truly
connect while tent camping for the weekend and enjoying His
magnificent
creation. Tim reminded us that God created us to fellowship with
Him. Rick
Teepen with “Snakes Alive” Ministry also shared in the weekend
message of
creation. Rick brought many small and one (1) quite large
(14feet long, 100lb.
boa) creature to get us up close and personal with a few of
God’s creations.
The
weekend was full of activity for the 70 boys and 41 men in
attendance.
Archery, BB Gun, Hiking, First Aid and Fire Safety classes were
part of Saturday’s
events. We did have some rain to contend with throughout
Saturday however,
this was a great opportunity to gather and worship until the
rain subsided. During
this gathering one of our Unit Commanders shared his testimony,
praise God for
his mercy.
We
feel the Holy Spirit has been moving in GBB and we are very
thankful to
have recently welcomed our newest Unit, Unit #412 from the
Wooster Grace
Brethren Church. We are already looking forward to our 2011
Spring Outpost
event, planning will begin soon.
We
must continually focus on a reminder that Tim Soule left us
with, Micah 6:8
“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord
require of you?
To
act justly
and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”
