Ohio
District GBB had its Fall Outpost on October 6, 7, and 8 at Round Lake
Christian Assembly between Loudonville and Wooster. The Outpost
was hosted by Ashland Unit 60. 60 boys and 31 men participated.
Units in attendance were Unit 4 Eastside, Unit 60 Ashland, Unit 65
Rittman, Unit 135 Norton, Unit 152 Millersburg, and Unit 165 Homerville.
The Council Fire and Sunday Service were blessed to have Steve Carrier
of The Power Team, who came to us from Dallas. Mr. Carrier
performed feats of strength including bending a horseshoe and an iron
bar, breaking wooden baseball bats, smashing a wall of bricks, and
tearing phone books. He combined an entertaining program with a
powerful and inspirational message and call to service of Christ.
Answering the call, 30 boys and 2 men came forward Saturday night.
Matt and Cory led praise and worship Sunday morning, followed by another
powerful message from Steve Carrier. Activities that weekend included the climbing wall, fishing, canoeing, and general recreation. It was possibly the best weather we have seen for an outpost, with blue skies the whole weekend. The daytime highs were around 70 and nighttime lows around 35.
